The Luersafe Connectors

Altius Proactiv+
- Combines a non thrombogenic (PEG) with the antimicrobial polyhexamethyl biguanide (PHMB) to provide superior antimicrobial effectiveness.
WHY PHMB
- It is a fast acting, broad spectrum biocide effective at low concentrations against gram positive and gram negative bacteria, fungi and viruses and widely used in antimicrobial medical devices.
How Does Proactiv+ Work?
- PHMB is co-polymerised with a non thrombogenic PEG (polyethylene glycol) to prevent platelet adhesion reducing the opportunity for bacterial growth.
- It reduces biofilm formation and minimises fibrin sheath.
- The patented non-eluting crosslinked covalent bonding ensures patient protection for the life of the catheter.
