What is Vascular Health academy
Vascular Health Academy™ is an educational initiative supported with a unrestricted educational grant from Helmier.
The Academy will focus on addressing Vascular Health by bringing evidence based global content conforming to internationally accredited recent guidelines focussed on Vascular Health Preservation addressing 4 quadrants.
- Assessment/selection of the right device for the right patient.
- Insertion techniques and best practices.
- Device Maintenance & Managing Complications.
- Training on conducting Patient Outcome Audits.
The Academy will comprise of multidisciplinary team of Clinicians & Nursing Opinion leaders across country, who will share a common platform with access to valuable resources from across the globe, a world class content, that will help disseminate the science of Vascular Health Preservation.
The Academy goals are to conduct Continuous Medical Education, Case Based Workshops, & Hands On Training to participants across the country.
Why Vascular Health Academy
The main purpose of the Academy is to share & implement evidence based clinical practice advocating Vascular Health Preservation.
The Academy aims to minimize Vascular Access Device (vAD's)complications and maximize patient safety. The Academy wont promote any product or brand and it will remain completely neutral in the education.
The Academy will focus on following objectives
- Continuing Education & Awareness on Vascular Health & its preservation.
- Conducting certification workshops for continuous reinforcement on evidence based best practices in association with PICC excellence.
- Build and publish white papers in the area of Vascular Health & Vascular Access Devices.
- Addressing gaps wherever exists in institutional protocols with evidence based learning in infusion therapy ensuring implementation.

Dr. Jack LeDonne
MD, FACS, VA-BC
Dr Jack LeDonne has Vascular Access as one of his key interest area & has been a proponent of ultrasound guidance as the gold standard for Vascular Access.
Dr Jack LeDonne is recipient of the Suzanne LaVere Herbst Award 2018 for Excellence in Vascular Access He has performed hands-on vascular access training at host sites in the U.S, Russia, Turkey and Brazil.
In addition to his published work and public speaking he is the medical director at Chesapeake Vascular Access. Jack has initiated and ran a hospital program to educate physician residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants on Vascular Access insertion.
He initiated and directed the vascular access department at a leading hospital where he educated physician residents, nurse practitioners, nurses and physician assistants on Vascular Access knowledge and skills.
Dr Nancy Moureau is the chief executive officer at PICC Excellence, a company dedicated to providing clinical education, consulting & research in the field of vascular access providing clinical education, PICC Certification, consulting & research.
Dr Nancy is a research member of the Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research (AVATAR) Group, and an adjunct associate professor at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia and an active clinician working in hospitals and home care. As Chair of the WOCOVA Central Venous Device Taskforce Nancy facilitated an evidence-based publication on minimal training requirements.
An internationally recognized clinical consultant, Dr Moureau has published over 100 vascular access manuscripts in many national and international journals.
As a well published author, Nancy in association with top vascular associations (Ava, NIVAS, IPS, AVAS) & industry partners has published a book on Vessel Health Preservation model which is now followed globally as our patients deserve NO LESS
